Inter Milan, Brentford and Aleksandar Stankovic

Inter Milan have rejected a €40m offer from Brentford for highly rated midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic. The Serbian returned after an award-winning season with Club Brugge and has become central to new coach Cristian Chivu’s plans at San Siro.
Inter, Stankovic and his representatives were reportedly united in refusing the proposed move despite the substantial fee. Chivu wants to build around the young midfielder, removing one of Brentford’s major summer targets from the market for now.
