Emiliano Martinez told Argentina supporters he expects to recover in time for their World Cup opener against Algeria. The Aston Villa goalkeeper suffered a small fracture to his right ring finger before the Europa League final.
Martinez has been training separately at Argentina’s Kansas City base but remains confident of being ready by 16 June. His availability matters because he remains Argentina’s first-choice goalkeeper and a key figure from their 2022 title win.
