Mikel Arteta criticised Arsenal’s lack of urgency and focus after his side conceded from a set-piece in a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. Kai Havertz’s late penalty rescued the tie, but Arteta was frustrated his team were punished by a situation they had specifically prepared for. Robert Andrich scored from a corner shortly after half-time, exposing a weakness Arteta said Arsenal had already reviewed in detail before the game. Havertz then converted late from the spot after Noni Madueke won a penalty, leaving the tie level ahead of the return leg in north London.
